Throughout the year, Robinson Reed Layton holds events for our clients and for the wider community. These events cover a range of subjects from effective tax planning for individuals to industry specific seminars, and sponsored sporting events. These are often in partnership with other organisations, meaning that events address a wider range of subjects.
We hold Budget briefings early the morning after the Chancellor's statement in Truro and at lunchtime in St Austell, details of these are not known until the Chancellor decides the day!
We also run an annual Charities Conference bringing charities up to date with recent developments.
With a General Election looming, and no announcement on a date for Alistair Darling's pre-election budget, businesses face an uncertain new financial year.
While Darling has promised a post-election Comprehensive Spending Review which will prove to be "the toughest we have had for 20 years", time is fast running out for any legislation to be passed beyond what is required to keep tax revenues coming in.
We decided therefore this year to hold a "not the budget" briefing for business leaders, which primarily discussed changes in tax legislation, emphasising measures which should be considering both prior to and post April 5 2010. See our news page for further details.
