Leisure

Our clients range from buy to let landlords with one or two holiday cottages, to some of the largest hotels and leisure complexes in the county.

The leisure industry is very labour-intensive, and as such can expect attention from HMRC’s Employer Compliance teams. We have the expertise to advise our clients so that they comply with the often very complicated rules relating to employment taxes, and to deal with any enquiries from HMRC.

The recent changes in the tax treatment of holiday lettings present a challenge to many in the leisure industry, and we are able to help people to adapt to these changes, and to the many other changes in this fast-developing industry.

Tony Juniper is a retired entrepreneur with investments which include buy to let properties.

“What I find sets Robinson Reed Layton apart is the people.

James Bailey and Nick Skerratt are exceptionally mentally agile and genuinely help my business prosper by thinking laterally.  They put themselves in my shoes to clarify the options and a way forward.  They are personable, they communicate well with each other and I believe they truly care about their clients’ financial welfare.  This is an amazing combination.

To conclude, Robinson Reed Layton provides much more than an accountancy job.”

Malcolm and Stephen Baker, owners of the Carbis Bay Hotel near St Ives, have entrusted their financial affairs to Robinson Reed Layton for the past thirty years.

“During our ongoing three million pound investment programme we have required expert advice on tax affairs and capital expenditure.

Robinson Reed Layton have assisted us with all aspects of our business and in addition have helped us achieve a successful incorporation.

This has been possible through a close business relationship conducted by their dedicated case manager, Nick Skerratt.  He has dealt with all matters extremely competently.”
