We
have a client base of over 100 corporate audit clients, plus approximately
500 unincorporated business and private clients. We thus have
a deep-rooted understanding of and involvement in the Cornish business
community.
In addition to the partners, we have together with our sister company dealing with management accounting, approximately 50 staff, of whom 15 are fully qualified Chartered or Certified
Accountants and 10 are AAT qualified. We do not believe that
any other firm of accountants in the county can match the range,
depth of experience and specialist knowledge which we can offer
in the field of audit, accountancy, taxation and business advice.
We recognise the importance of training employees and we were successful
in obtaining the Investors in People award. We were the first
independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Cornwall to obtain
this award.
We
provide audit, corporate tax and other services to a number of the
largest groups, companies and enterprises in Cornwall, and have
continued to gain new clients in these categories over recent years.
Whilst we believe that the firm deals with more businesses with
turnover in excess of £1 million than any other firm of accountants
in Cornwall, we also advise businesses with smaller turnover.
We provide accountancy and other services to our unincorporated
clients whose turnover range from £15,000 to £30,000,000.
We
deal with a large number of growing businesses and have provided
them with guidance and assistance in the following areas:
- management accounts set-up and preparation;
- business plans and cash flows (we use specialist forecasting
software to simplify this sometimes difficult task);
- obtaining grant aid;
- obtaining bank and other forms of finance, including introducing
and meeting with the finance providers;
- management buy outs and buy ins;
- payroll services; and
- choice of accounting software and training in principally: Sage,
Pegasus, Quickbooks, Viztopia and Winforecast.
We
occupy modern offices close to Truro city centre, and have undertaken
an extensive programme of investment in computer hardware and accounting,
audit and taxation software. We are committed to keep abreast
of developments in information technology.
We
are able to buy-in specialist advice when needed from a top-ten
national firm as well as provide links where required to firms world
wide.
Client
care and the maintenance of good communications form a fundamental
part of the philosophy by which we operate. We regularly hold
breakfast briefings, budget updates and other seminars to keep our
clients and other business contacts in touch with audit, taxation
and other developments as they arise. We publish a regular newsletter
for our charity clients.
