Richard Robinson FCA
Richard became a general practice partner in 1984 and has extensive experience of public sector audits, his client portfolio also contains many charity organisations to whom he provides specialist advice and is a recognised expert in this demanding area.

Richard's public sector experience has extended to membership in recent years of the boards of The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Family Health Services Authority and Duchy Health Charity Limited and as a school governor.

He is the firm's charity specialist.

Paul Reed MA FCA

Paul Reed MA FCA
Paul qualified in 1978 and became a general practice partner in 1988.  Paul is the firm's audit compliance partner and specialises in dealing with family businesses and leads the firm's leisure industry expertise.

He is the firm’s agriculture specialist and a recognised expert on timeshare.

He is a governor of a local Tertiary college, and treasurer of various organisations and charities.

Stephen Gainey BA(Hons) FCA
Stephen qualified in 1987 and became partner in 1996. Stephen is the firm's management accounts and accounting software partner and also supervises the development and maintenance of the firm's extensive IT facility as well as assisting clients with their IT hardware and software problems and solutions.

In addition to audit and accountancy, Stephen also has considerable experience of personal and corporate tax compliance work.

Graham Boulton BSc(Hons) FCA

Graham Boulton BSc(Hons) FCA
Graham qualified as a chartered accountant in 1989 and became a partner in 2003. He has a background in general practice with particular emphasis on delivering the firm’s audit service and for dealing with small and medium sized family businesses. With this experience Graham is now involved in monitoring the quality of audit performance as well as developing new business for the practice.

He also has specialist experience in the areas of charities and care homes.

James Bailey MA (Cantab) CTA
James is our Head of Tax. A Chartered Tax Adviser, he is well known and respected in tax planning circles nationwide. As well as helping accountants and solicitors with their clients' tax affairs, James also advises family businesses and their owners, and other wealthy individuals. He provides advice on tax planning together with help in dealing with tax investigations.

James began his career as an Inspector of Taxes with the Inland Revenue, where in his last post he was Deputy District Inspector of a large London tax district. While with the Inland Revenue he led tax investigations into local businesses as well as national companies, and even a few well-known media figures.

After leaving the Inland Revenue, James worked with two of the 'Big Four' accounting firms, specialising in tax planning for family companies and wealthy individuals. He also dealt with Inland Revenue tax investigations at a local level and with more serious enquiries involving the Inland Revenue's Special Compliance Office.

James has appeared on TV and radio to comment on taxation issues, and he regularly writes articles on tax planning for various journals.

Terry Knight BA (Hons) ACA

Terry Knight BA(Hons) ACA
Terry qualified in 1978 and has been Senior Manager since 1988. Terry specialises in forensic accounting and has produced expert reports on cases involving personal injury, fatal accidents, loss of profits and professional negligence.  He is a Law Society accredited expert witness.

Terry has extensive experience in the retail industry both in auditing and management accounts.

Terry also is the firm’s cash flow and projections specialist.
