RRL to Defend its BF Adventure Title

Robinson Reed Layton is defending its title as the winners of the BF Adventure Corporate Challenge. The event takes place on Friday 20th May at the charity’s outdoor centre near Penryn. Last year the challenge raised £2500 for BF Adventure’s work with disadvantaged people.

The Robinson Reed Layton defenders are Simon Reed and David Horwell from last year’s winning team while Tracy Lewis and Robert Thomas are fresh to the challenge.

The corporate challenge is a competitive test of outdoor adventure skills. Twelve teams are already signed up but more are welcome. New activities include a raft building race and orienteering, but the teams will also rock climb, abseil, canoe, solve problems and cross the quarry on a zip wire.

Organiser Britta Hoffman is encouraging more teams to sign up:

“The corporate challenge is a really fun day out for companies. They get to compete with each other but also use the event as a networking opportunity in an unusual environment.”

The team from Robinson Reed Layton is looking forward to the event as Chartered Accountant Simon Reed explains:

“We really enjoyed the challenge last year. The activities didn’t just take us out of our office, they took us right out of our comfort zones.

While we must admit to being keen to defend our title, the real reason for supporting the event is the great cause.”

The funds raised on the day will help disadvantaged young people engage with BF Adventure and develop enough confidence to get back on track.

Since 1989 BF Adventure (formerly Bishop’s Forum), has used the medium of outdoor activities to help clients build self esteem and develop positive life skills in order to re-engage within mainstream education, college or enter employment. The charity also works with people with disability, long term unemployed adults and their families as well as many other individuals who have additional support needs.
