A team from Robinson Reed Layton is the new winner of the BF Adventure Corporate Challenge. The day of outdoor adventure raised £2500 for the charity’s work with disadvantaged people and to go towards extra indoor space.
11 teams from local companies competed in the challenge at the charity and outdoor centre. Activities included abseiling from cliffs, racing in canoes, solving difficult puzzles and completing the zip wire with whilst carrying a raw egg.
The winning team comprised Simon Reed, Tom Mullard, Daniel Orasnjak and David Horwell. They won a bush craft day hosted by BF Adventure for up to 10 people. They have the opportunity to learn survival skills and knot tying, how to build their own shelter and to make fire without matches.
Simon, a Senior at Robinson Reed Layton is delighted with the win:
“We would like to thank the staff at BF Adventure for organising and running this event and we are very happy that our teamwork led us to come out on top.
Robinson Reed Layton is extremely pleased to be able to help local charities, like BF Adventure, whether it be financially or professionally.”
After the challenge team members were treated to pasties and learned more about the charity’s work and the BF Adventure building project.
Tony Hogg, CEO at BF Adventure said: “Today has been fantastic. It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves whilst supporting our important work. These are difficult times and with the number of people that need our help increasing each year, support, involvement as well as donations from the community and companies in particular are crucial to us.”
Since 1989 BF Adventure (formerly Bishop’s Forum), has used the medium of outdoor activities to help clients build self esteem and develop positive life skills in order to re-engage within mainstream education, college or enter employment. The charity also works with people with disability, long term unemployed adults and their families as well as many other individuals who have additional support needs.
