Paul is a founding Partner and now Senior Partner.

Born and bred in Cornwall, Paul qualified in 1978 and became a general practice Partner in 1988. Paul is the firm’s audit compliance Partner and specialises in dealing with family businesses and leads the firm’s leisure industry expertise.

He is the firm’s agriculture specialist and a recognised expert on timeshare.

Paul is Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of Truro and Penwith College and treasurer of various organisations and charities.

Paul is a keen golfer, stamp collector and avid cricket enthusiast, collecting cricket books and memorabilia, as well as being a supporter of local Rugby Union.

Stephen qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1987 and became Partner in 1996.

He has a general practice background, with particular emphasis on the small family business sector along with considerable experience of personal tax return cases.

He is the firm’s VAT Partner and also supervises the firm’s management accounts and accounting software functions.

His interests include photography, travel and languages – notably French and his native Cornish – all of which are combined on his visits to Brittany. He also enjoys walking the Coast Path.

Graham qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989 and was appointed a Partner in 2003.

He has a background in general practice with particular emphasis on delivering audit, accounting and advisory services to small and medium-sized family businesses.

He offers advisory services to start up and developing businesses as well as corporate finance services.

He also has specialist experience in the area of charities and care homes, and heads the firm’s charities practice following the retirement of Richard Robinson.

He is chairman and treasurer of a local charity and a school governor.

He is interested in all sports and since retiring from playing football he is concentrating on lowering his golf handicap.

Tax Partner

James is the firm’s Tax Partner. A Chartered Tax Adviser, he has a national reputation for his work on taxation issues, and regularly writes articles on tax planning for various journals as well as making TV and radio appearances.

James is a former Inland Revenue Deputy District Inspector of a large London tax district, leading tax investigations into national companies and prominent individuals. On leaving the Inland Revenue, James worked with two of the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms, specialising in tax planning for family companies and wealthy individuals.

As well as helping accountants and solicitors with their clients’ tax affairs, James also advises family businesses and wealthy individuals on tax planning, and offers help in dealing with tax investigations.

James is very keen on shooting, and says that training his gundogs makes a welcome contrast to dealing with HM Revenue and Customs officials. Though he lacks basic kitchen skills, his game cookery has been described as “inspired”.

He enjoys reading, particularly crime novels and political thrillers, and is sure that one day he will finish the Daily Telegraph crossword in under ten minutes.
