Sage Seminars and Training

Sage Seminars and Training

As one of Cornwall’s leading firms of Chartered Accountants and the only Sage Accredited Accountant Partner in Cornwall, we continually assist businesses in implementing and upgrading Sage accounting and payroll systems.

Seminars

Seminars

One of the ways we help businesses use Sage more effectively is by periodically running free seminars.

We work very closely with Sage and as a result are able to invite the Sage Regional Account Manager, June Horne, to present at some of our seminars.

June has been with Sage for over nine years, working in both technical support and marketing, before joining the Sage Field Support Team in 2003.

Prior to working at Sage, June ran her own bookkeeping business and computer services business, so she really understands the technicalities of accounting and the pressures of running a business!

We will be holding a workshop on 14 September 2010 at 10am to demonstrate the new features in the latest release of Sage 50, which will be available from August 2010.

In December 2009 we held a seminar on Getting Ready to File Your VAT Return On Line. The morning seminar which was over subscribed, was re-run in the afternoon and covered not only VAT on line filing and a demonstration showing how easy it is to make the switch, also Stephen Gainey covered other VAT forthcoming changes on the reversion of the standard rate to 17.5% and EC Sales lists.

We held our Payroll Hints and Tips seminar in March 2010. This outlined the new HMRC penalty regime, gave advice on running the payroll year end routines and provided some handy hints on getting the most from your Sage 50 payroll software.

In April 2010 we held a seminar on Debt Management, an important topic in the current economic climate, which gave practical advice on:

  • Taking payment via credit card
  • Deciding how much credit to give a customer
  • Setting up the debt management fields on the customer record
  • Credit control routines
  • How to email customer statements
  • Producing management information on credit control

We held a seminar in July 2010 giving an insight into Sage Act! – a powerful contact management system.

Sage ACT!:

  • Enables you to instantly access key contact and customer information
  • Quickly and easily logs all phone calls, meetings, notes, emails and letters directly onto the contact record for instant access
  • Includes a calendar and reminder system which integrates with Outlook
  • Manages all your leads through every step of the sales process
  • Creates unlimited mail merges and e-mail merge templates so you can send a fully personalised letter or e-mail to one or thousands of contacts in seconds
  • Attaches all of your documents (quotes, contracts, letters etc) in one place – directly on your contact record
  • Can be used as a standalone package or with links to Sage 50

More details of further forthcoming Sage seminars will be announced nearer the time.

Training

Training

Our staff are required by Sage to pass annual exams to ensure their expertise is kept up to date in order that we retain our Accredited Accountant Partner status. We believe this knowledge of Sage products can help your business and staff.

Our Sage accounts and payroll training can be tailored to suit your needs and is fully flexible to fit around your staff. We find that this enables us to train you on parts of the software you should be using and ignoring parts that are not relevant to your business. For example, if your business doesn’t use the stock module of Sage 50 accounts, why pay to learn how to use it?

Training can take place either at our offices in Truro, or at your premises. By training at your premises we can use your accounts program, your invoices and payments etc. We find this generally helps people understand more than by using demonstration data as the transactions involved are real to them.

Whether you would like a refresher, would like to know how to get the most from your software or have never used Sage before, we are confident our training will help you and your business.

If you would like someone to contact you regarding training please click here.
